Profile of the French Bulldog
by Leanne Gossett

In examining the "profile" of a French Bulldog you will find the blend of physical appearance and personality to be rather unique. As stated by a European journalist in the early 1920s, "He is a clown under the robe of a philosopher."  The French Bulldog is a very compact, sturdy animal with "bat ears."  These distinctive ears contribute to an air of stoic alertness.  their compact, well muscled bodies depict the power of a dynamo.  The large square head, lack of a muzzle, large expressive eyes, and a rounded brow give the French Bulldog a frog-like facial appearance.
Coupled with these physical attributes is the Frenchie's personality consisting of : an intelligent sense of humor (they are pranksters), an even-tempered disposition and a devotion to their "family" that knows no bounds; the result is this marvelous companion.
Frenchies can adjust to country life or apartment dwelling - where they live is immaterial - so long as they are a loved member of the family.
