Tarheel Weimaraner Club Rescue
The Tarheel Weimaraner Club has a very active Rescue Program which assists in re-homing Weimaraners in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. We have rescued and placed over 200 Weimaraners in the last 9 years. We do not agree that there is a shortage of Weimaraners!
Our rescue program works hard to match the right dog to the right owner, and we have been very successful for that reason. All of our dogs are vet checked, spayed or neutered, housebroken and crate-trained. When appropriate, they are first placed into a foster home for about two weeks in order to be evaluated for temperament, behavior, and physical health. These dogs are available to approved homes for a $200 fee to help defray the cost of the rescue program. (An application will need to be completed and approved if one is interested in adopting and/or fostering a Weimaraner from TWC.)
