Know and love your dog well.
Be sure your dog has had all his/her vaccinations and shots.
Groom your dog before each training session.
Feed sparingly, and give some very light exercise.
Have a small amount of water available to the dog.
The point I’m trying to make is to attend to the needs of your dog,
before each training session. It is important that the seriousness
of each session is impressed upon the dog, not the domination. No
two dogs will respond to training in the same way, even as the techniques
must be changed for each dog and designed to keep the dog interested.
